Emily Holsman was born into a very creative family in Melbourne, Australia. In fact her grandfather was a concert pianist. She inherited her painting skills from her mother, who was also an artist who painted with both oils and pastels. Emily herself works exclusively with pastels and she has created many wonderful images over the years.

She is an award-winning artist who lives and works in the idyllic coastal village of Balnarring. She started painting in 2006 and has since created any number of animal, still life, landscape, and beach art prints, many of which are displayed our website. The pastel paintings she creates are both timeless and beautiful. An image recreated on a simple greeting card will often bring a smile to someone’s face. Her personality and passion for painting is reflected in her artwork. Some of the works in Emily Holsman’s beautiful pastel collection are;

  • Abbey and Artiste:

Emily’s first ever commission resulted in this wonderful painting of a young girl riding her grey pony. Before embarking on this painting, Emily was rather nervous as she had never painted a commission for anyone before. This is one of the most popular paintings in our Animal Art Prints category and one that represents such fine detail and shading.

  • Bathing Box Beauties Series:

Arguably Emily’s most popular painting and her best selling art card is Bathing Box Beauties. It is one of the most popular beach art prints on our web site. In this painting, Emily has captured the delightful and colourful Bathing Boxes that populate much of the Mornington Peninsula. She has produced a number of paintings in her Bathing Box Beauties series (now numbering five). Each one presents a charming and distinctive view of Bathing Boxes from different perspectives and view points.

  • Pride of Place:

Another striking and majestic artwork by Emily Holsman is ‘Pride of Place.’ A painting of a Pelican standing proudly on the Australian foreshore. The wonderful colours and detail of the bird’s features are remarkable and so too is the character and personality she has managed to capture. This painting was created by Emily Holsman at a local show in Australia, where she was housed in a marquee and presented as an ‘Artist at Work.’ This is the first painting she ever created in front of an audience.

  • Kinloch

In this charming artwork, Emily has managed to blend and balance some wonderful colours to create different textures and shades in her painting. It is a painting of a house, but one that emphasizes the garden, as the home itself is kept in the background. An interesting treatment that has presented us with a unique image.
