Pelicans
I simply adore Pelicans.
They are such marvellous creatures, with the varying shapes they adopt with their long flexible necks and huge beaks.
I love the way they walk/waddle across the sand and yet glide so gracefully through the water.
Watching them in flight is something else. It is awe inspiring. And they are so gentle natured. They will stand quietly and patiently waiting for cast off fish scraps, while seagulls shriek noisily and greedily around their heads.
Sometimes when life has been tough or I am feeling a bit low, I will grab my camera and drive ten minutes down the road to the Hastings pier.
The mere sight of these wonderful birds is always uplifting.
