The Greek islands of Kalimnos captured from the township on the far side of the island. I was painting the harbour with its overhanging Bouganvilleas from the shore, when the boat arrived. Linda Finch
My family often camps at Point Leo over Christmas. The kids love to play on the pier and there is always lots of activity and colours in the water. Linda Finch
A very pretty yacht I spotted one day moored off the coast at Flinders. I find this image to be as refreshing as it is peaceful. It gives me a feeling of solitude and freedom. Emily Holsman
Boats at St.Kilda with the colours of the sky reflecting on the water. People were fishing from the pier with Melbourne city in the background. Linda Finch
This painting was a commission from the yacht's owner. Clearly a keen sailor. When I look at this image, I can almost feel the wind in my hair, as I look at its billowing sail carving through waves bathed in brilliant sunshine. Emily Holsman
This lovely boat was moored at Chinaman's Creek in Metung. As I stood on the pier, a cormorant graciously landed on the railing, stretching its wings out to dry. Emily Holsman.
Working boats like this have such character. This one was moored at Apollo Bay on Victoria's Great Ocean Road. I had never painted crayfish pots before and they certainly presented a unique challenge. Mind you I was very happy with the outcome. Emily Holsman
My original painting of this pretty fishing village in Devon had never really worked. After being confined to a cupboard for a considerable period of time, I decided to take it out one day, put it on the easel and give it a thorough face lift. Emily Holsman
We were taking a walk on the beach at Point Leo one morning and were surprised to see a fishing boat stranded high on the sand. Had it been washed up at high tide or simply left there until the water would float it free? Linda Finch
Fishing boats moored alongside the pier at Flinders. They have so much character and are so interesting to paint. I am quite sure that each one has so many stories to tell. Emily Holsman
Crayfish boats in Hobart, Tasmania. Capturing the curves and features of these wonderful vessels was not as easy it may first appear. In fact it was quite a challenge. All the same, it was something I simply loved doing and I am delighted with the outcome. Emily Holsman
